Taking Baby Steps

Hey guys I don’t have much to talk about today I just want to give a bit of an update about where I am at in my process of creating art and selling it. I’m a bit tired tonight and not feeling too well but I’m going to try and knock out this post.

I am happy to report I started on rearranging my art “studio” so I can make things more efficiently and hopefully start getting some animation done… though I still have more cleaning to do before it’s truly ready, the big part is taken care of though!

I’ve been taking this week to update my Society6 and put more of my artwork on the products there. That’s great but I really would like to produce more products myself and have them on hand, for one Society6 gets most of the profit and I don’t have any thing I can take to craft shows or conventions, even buying from them would probably be very expensive. This has been on my mind for a while actually and the main stumbling block is money. Well I’d like to say I will be starting a new part time job tomorrow! There are many reasons, but one of the most important to me is having funds to put in to my art business. Got to spend money to make money and I haven’t been able to do that for a while.

The other reason I got a part time job is after school I want to apply to internships out on the West Coast at either Viz or Funimation. (Perhaps even one located in New York?) To do that I’m going to need some funds to relocate and pay for living expenses while there. I’ve actually been looking for part time work since I started school but it took this long to find something viable that works with my school schedule. I’ll be making doughnuts at Krispy Kreme! It’s not glamourous but it will get me to where I need to go! Plus it seems like it will be fun to make the doughnuts, I kind of like doing stuff like that.

The bottom line is I’m really excited about the future but I’ve got to put in the work to get there!
